Millions of Social Security recipients are facing a change in their monthly payment schedule. Traditionally, the Social Security Administration disburses Supplemental Security Income payments to individuals with disabilities and older adults with limited or no income on the first of each month. However, due to June 1 falling on a Saturday, payments will be sent out on Friday, May 31, following the payment schedule.
It’s essential to note that this schedule modification does not imply an extra payment for recipients. Rather, it means that their June payment will arrive a day earlier, resulting in two SSI payments in May and none in June.
This adjustment may prompt recipients to adjust their budgeting and financial planning for the coming months, ensuring they allocate funds appropriately to cover their expenses. Moreover, similar changes are expected in August and November, further necessitating careful financial management among Social Security beneficiaries.
For those reliant on these payments, staying informed about these schedule adjustments is crucial to maintain financial stability and meet their ongoing needs.
